The Senior Lead Counsel II is a senior level position responsible for serving as strategic business partner and subject matter expert by providing legal counsel and thought leadership to U.S. Consumer Cards (USCC). The overall objective of this role is to provide legal support, advice, and guidance to USCC.
This role will lead contract management and engagement efforts across the USCC business. Primary responsibilities include working directly with the business, finance, and other teams to operationalize complex agreements with USCC co-brand, private label, and other cards, rewards, benefits, networks, and other partners. Other responsibilities include leading efforts to design strategic and other approaches to contract management (including third-party management) and engagement, and partnering with the business and functions on enhancement opportunities. This role will report to the Head of USCC Legal and be a member of their leadership team.
This role requires thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the USCC, combined with knowledge of the laws and regulations for the geographies in which we operate. Provides input into strategic decisions, exercising sound legal judgement to develop proactive, risk appropriate and commercially practical business-oriented solutions.
