Job Description

The Turret Operator will load sheet metal into production machines, inspect finished parts, and progressively learn to set up and operate turret and related equipment. This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced setup and programming skills, which can lead to increased pay and broader responsibilities within a modern metal fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

  • Load sheet metal into turret and related fabrication machines in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor machine operations and inspect parts for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Learn and apply basic machine setup procedures under guidance from experienced operators.
  • Assist with setting up turret, press brake, punch press, and related equipment as skills develop.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure parts meet required specifications.
  • Support the programming and adjustment of machines as capability and experience increase.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following shop safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Collaborate with team members across fabrication and welding areas to support production goals.
  • Identify and communicate any equipment issues or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with turret machines, press brakes, or punch presses.
  • Exposure to sheet metal fabrication or laser cutting operations.
  • Willingness to learn machine setup and basic programming functions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in growing technical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented shop environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-maintained metal fabrication shop equipped with seven new press brake machines and eight welding bays on one side of the shop. The facility is wide open with newly added lighting and tall inventory shelving that reaches the ceiling, creating a bright and organized work area. You will work around turret machines, press brakes, punch presses, sheet metal fabrication equipment, and lasers. This is a 2nd shift position in a production environment where adherence to safety procedures and appropriate shop attire is expected.

This is a Permanent position based out of Arlington, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $54080.00/yr.
