Tufting Machine Operator – 1st ShiftPosition Summary:We are seeking a reliable and experienced Tufting Machine Operator to operate and monitor tufting equipment used to manufacture high-quality turf products in Dalton, GA. This role is hands-on and requires strong attention to detail, consistency, commitment to safety and quality, and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in operating a tufting machineand the pay rate is $17.50 per hour.Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Confirming specifications of the finished product during production.
Obtaining weight check for first roll of every order and all rolls ending with a “0”, or as indicated by order.
Hanging and tying or splicing fiber into creel.
Rotating small and large fiber tubes as needed to maximize creel loads (cutbacks).
Packaging dunnage and fiber skids.
Assisting in de-creeling machines or removing spent fiber tubes and packaging fiber and dunnage from the creel.
Assisting in identifying non-conforming fibers and materials to maintain product efficacy.
Identifying streaks, high lines, low lines, loops, missing ends, or other deficiencies in turf products.
Using a mending gun to repair turf rolls.
Operating rollup.
Operating tufting machine without direct supervision.
Ensuring order needs are met.
Posting transactions in NAV.
Doffing and labeling finishing rolls.
Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
Report mechanical, material, or quality concerns to the supervisor/maintenance promptly
Qualifications:
Education or experience level: exhibit mastery level of Creeler 2 position and exhibit mast level of Mender 2 position.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to interact with others (co-workers, supervisors, vendors, and general public) in a professional manner, to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and equals.
Ability to effectively lead a team effort to obtain short-term goals.
Good basic mathematical skills.
Ability to analyze and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced production environment.
Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Work Environment:
Production/manufacturing setting with machinery noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
