Position Description: Truss Production Worker
Currently seeking a Truss Production Worker for a great opportunity with one of Central Oregon's fastest growing manufacturing companies. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of working experience in fast paced production environment.
Objective:
Contribute to the growth and profitability of the company by building high
quality trusses for residential and commercial construction.

Basic Function:Assist in the building of roof trusses and ensure a quality product is assembled.


Essential Functions:
  • Assists in preparation of truss assembly by picking, stacking, or sorting truss parts.
  • Follows instructions on paperwork to ensure proper materials are being used in the correct location and order.
  • May affixproper metal plate by hammering into place.
  • Stacks wood or finished product neatly and in proper order for assembly and delivery. Bands product and labels with appropriate job code.
  • Maintains working area free of miscellaneious equipment and debris. Sweeps work area at the end of the shift.
  • Reports all unsafe working conditions and practices to lead or supervisor.
  • Adheres to OSHA requirements and company policies/procedures to ensure safety at all times.
  • Regular and predictable attendance during assigned working hours.

Additional Duties:
  • Helps with special truss projects such as attaching super anchors, pre-cut rafters, and sheathing gable ends.
  • Gains a working knowledge of material grades and quality, plate placement requirements and tolerances, and gap allowance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Truss Production Lead and Truss Production Supervisor.

Knowledge/Experience/:
  • 6 months production experience preferred
  • Completion of high school/college carpentry or wood shop classes a plus
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to listen, take direction and learn
  • Ability to understand, write and read basic English
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read and utilize tape measure
  • Ability to work with hammer/nail gun/staple gun/power saws
  • Work effectively with others in crew and be a team player
  • Display pride of workmanship
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Use Safe work practices

  • Truss Production Supervisor
  • Truss Lead
  • Production Manager

Working Conditions:
  • Work in outdoor conditions
  • Exposure to excessive noise
  • Mandatory overtime as required (includes Saturday’s and Sunday’s)

Physical Requirement:
  • Ability to lift up to 75-100 lbs throughout shift
  • Must wear personal protective equipment
  • Ability to perform the following physical actions on a repetitive and frequent basis for 8-10 hours per day:
  • Sit
  • Stand
  • Walk
  • Push/Pull
  • Climb
  • Squat/Kneel
  • Bend/Stoop
  • Twist/Turn
  • Handle/Grasp
  • Reach overhead and outward

Other Requirements:
  • Cold & wet weather gear
  • Hammer and 30’ tape measure
