Position Title: TRIO Upward Bound Residential Staff.

Classification: Non-Exempt.
Work Schedule: During the academic summer program, residential hall staff work varied hours. This position requires overtime when on night and morning shifts. Staff can anticipate working a minimum of one morning shift and one night shift per week. This is a live-in position (Sunday evening - Friday afternoon).

Position Overview:
Upward Bound hosts approximately 120 UB students on campus each summer for an annual six-week academic residential summer program. Students live in a residence hall from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon, returning home every weekend. Residential staff supervise student residential life during TRIO Upward Bound’s Summer program at St Olaf.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Live-in residence hall and supervise student residential life.
Maintain a safe and healthy residential experience and environment.
Supervise recreational and extracurricular activities.
Maintain an environment conducive to student well-being.
Work afternoon, overnight, and/or early morning shifts, when scheduled.
Ensure students and staff are following all St. Olaf and UB rules and guidelines.
Attend daily staff meeting and complete other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in postsecondary education.
Ability to establish good rapport with students and UB staff.
Commitment to program goals.
Experience working with others (high school students).
Ability to coordinate and supervise recreational and extracurricular activities.
