Job Title: Traveling Construction Material Technician
Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Construction Material Technicians to join our national traveling technician team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing field testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. This position requires 100% travel, with rotating schedules of three weeks on, followed by one week off. Individuals can expect to work 60 hours per week consistently on large high-profile sites across Northwest Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field tests, observations, and inspections of construction materials.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other relevant parties regarding construction site activities, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection results.
  • Transport material samples, along with associated documentation, to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
  • Compile, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the project manager.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites as needed.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards at all times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with ACI, concrete, construction, asphalt, concrete testing, materials testing, concrete inspection, NICET, quality assurance, soil testing, nuclear gauge, nuclear density gauge, proctor, compaction testing, construction materials testing, inspection, quality control, and soil sampling.
  • High school diploma required.
  • A minimum of six months of relevant experience is required.
  • Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Work Environment

This role requires 100% travel with a rotating schedule of three weeks on and one week off. Technicians will work 60 hours per week on large high-profile sites across Northwest Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. The work environment is dynamic, requiring flexibility and adaptability to various site conditions. Safety protocols are strictly enforced, and maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
