Audio Visual (AV) Technician – TRAVEL ROLE (Greater New England Area)

6‑Month Contract-to-Hire | All Travel Expenses Covered

Your home is your office — this is a full‑travel position.

We’re hiring anexperienced Audio Visual (AV) Technicianto support AV installations, maintenance, and system commissioning across theNortheast region— includingCT, MA, RI, NY, and the greater New England area.

This is atrue travel job. You’ll be on the road frequently, andall travel costs are covered— flights, lodging, transportation, and daily travel needs.

About the Role

In this role, you'll handle hands-on AV installation work, support commissioning, perform system wiring/termination, and assist with site surveys. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and act as an on-site point of contact for customers during installations.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job sites throughout the Northeast (CT/MA/RI/NY) to support AV installations.
• Review SOWs, technical drawings, diagrams, and construction documents.
• Install, terminate, and configure AV systems (speakers, displays, racks, wall plates, DSPs, control systems, etc.).
• Assist with audio/video system commissioning and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues on-site.
• Handle equipment staging, cable pulls, materials management, and installation logistics.
• Conduct site surveys and site readiness assessments.
• Communicate daily status updates to the Project Manager.
• Interact professionally with customers regarding system progress and functionality.
• Update redlines, documentation, and as-built notes.
• Travel up to100%, including domestic and occasional international trips.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with AV installation and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of AV signal flow, wiring practices, and low-voltage standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities independently.
• Professional appearance and behavior.
• Comfortable with extensive travel across the Northeast.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Active passport or ability to get one.

Contract Details
