An experienced Transport Planner/Modeller is required to join our established Highways & Drainage team which serves the UK private development and public sector markets. The UK Development transport team offers clients a wide range of multi-disciplinary services including transport modelling of local junctions and signalised networks (VISSIM, Paramics, TRANSYT, LINSIG, JUNCTIONS 8), pedestrians (LEGION, VISWALK) and regional / strategic transport systems (VISUM, SATURN). The wider team also undertakes development planning work involving site appraisals, transport assessments, master planning, public transport studies and public consultation.
The appointed candidate will be supporting the successful transport planning teams which are working on a wide variety of high profile projects in London, across the UK and internationally. They will be involved in the development and application of transport models, junction traffic junction design and analysis and providing support services for the submission of Transport Assessment reports.
There will also be opportunities to work with modellers across WSP UK offices on traffic modelling, data analysis, and transport planning projects, with potential for international work also.
The candidate will work with experienced strategic and micro- simulation modellers who are at the cutting edge of modelling software application. The successful candidate would be expected to expand their role in the future to include management of projects and development / training of staff in Noida/ Bengaluru to grow the capability.

There will also be the opportunity to travel to our UK offices to work face to face with the UK project teams as required.
Training of Junior staff on Strategic Modelling softwares, particularly Saturn, VISSIM and / or VISUM.
Quality checks of data and model outputs;
Research and review design options for both technical and economic impact;
Support Project Managers for on time completion of tasks assigned to CRC and to WSP’s expected standards;
Take ownership of tasks assigned and search for solutions where required;
Support seniors in maintaining healthy contact with different UK offices for modelling and/ or Transport Planning tasks;
Be a core member of WSP’s Modelling/ Transport Planning team, with key focus on detail and quality;
Zeal to grow self and dedication towards working independently/ with minimal guidance where required;
Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies;
Clear communication (verbal and written) with colleagues in India and the UK on all matters – project related technical communication and day-to-day matters;
Support in writing segments of LMVRs, Forecasting Reports, and other modelling technical notes;
Work within project constraints; such as time, budget and resource; and
Attend and contribute in team and project meetings;
Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline.
