What You Will Do:
The Training Manager is a key member of the Manufacturing & Assembly (M&A) Discipline Health organization within Pratt & Whitney Operations. This role is responsible for leading the strategy, development, deployment, and continuous improvement of technical training for the Columbus M&A workforce, including both hourly production associates and frontline leaders.
This position partners closely with Module Center (Mod Center) leadership, HR, subject matter experts (SMEs), and production supervisors to understand capability needs and ensure workforce proficiency in support of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The Training Manager also plays a central role in establishing enterprise‑aligned training standards, curriculum frameworks, and qualification processes across the Mod Center.
Success in this role requires strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, expertise in curriculum design and adult learning, and the ability to lead change in a complex, matrixed environment. This position directly supervises technical trainers and may manage external or vendor training resources as needed.
This role supports the Manufacturing & Assembly site in Columbus, GA and requires an understanding of manufacturing processes used in Columbus Forge Blades and Disks, including forging of titanium and nickel alloys, heat treatment, precision machining, surface conditioning, and nondestructive inspection (NDI).
Lead and support a team of technical trainers (as assigned), including work direction, coaching, performance development, and assignment of training deliverables
Engage Mod Center leadership to understand business needs and define training priorities for the hourly and salaried production workforce
Develop, deploy, and maintain standardized technical training curriculum and learning pathways for production associates, aligned with enterprise training standards
Create and manage curriculum documentation, course materials, instructor guides, and blended learning content
Manage the digital training and qualification platform, ensuring accuracy of training records, certifications, and skill matrices
Establish and maintain consistent training standards, tools, and processes across the Mod Center, including alignment with HR, SMEs, Operational Excellence, and production supervisors
Drive the use of training evaluation tools, customer feedback, and effectiveness metrics to support continuous improvement of training programs
Build and maintain partnerships with community colleges, third‑party training providers, and vendor‑led training resources; oversee onsite delivery and define standard work for external partners
Support onboarding, upskilling, and reskilling initiatives and maintain the training infrastructure and tools that enable consistent training processes
Build strong familiarity with shop environments, procedures, and manufacturing processes to ensure training programs meet operational needs
Participate in the enterprise training community of practice to share best practices, align standards, and support discipline health across M&A
Have availability on multiple shifts and be open for travel up to approximately 10%
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in with 8 or more years of experience relevant to training, coaching and/or performance development OR a Master's degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience
Proficiency in technical communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, digital learning platforms, and training systems
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience in technical training, instructional design, or adult learning / Train‑the‑Trainer certification
Working knowledge of Mod Center or M&A operations (machining, forging, heat treat, assembly, NDI, or related processes)
Project management experience and ability to lead change in a matrixed environment
Knowledge of Lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies
Experience developing technical documentation, job aids, and competency assessments
Familiarity with Industry 4.0 or digital manufacturing concepts

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
