Trainer - OSP Wireline Construction – Underground Fiber

We are hiring an OSP Wireline Construction Trainer for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity supporting operations in Dallas, Texas. This role is responsible for developing and delivering classroom and field-based training for Outside Plant (OSP) wireline fiber construction crews, with a strong focus on safe, efficient underground fiber installation and proper operation of heavy equipment used in OSP construction.

This role is ideal for a hands-on OSP professional who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and raising the bar in the field. Required Skills & Experience

· Authorization to work in the United States

· Utility construction field experience with a focus on crew leadership

· Telecommunications construction field experience strongly preferred

· Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive working environment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to present effectively in classroom and field settings

· Ability to work with individuals at all levels across the organization

· Basic computer skills (Google applications preferred)

· Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card

Desired Skills & Experience

· Prior experience training or mentoring construction crews

· Strong understanding of underground fiber installation best practices

· Experience conducting worksite walk-throughs and safety reviews

What You Will Be Doing

· Train new and existing employees to company and industry standards

· Deliver classroom and hands-on field training for OSP wireline crews

· Ensure crews are qualified, safety-compliant, and job-ready

Daily Responsibilities

· Train crews on operating heavy equipment (backhoe, excavator, directional drill)

· Train safe use of hand and small tools (shovel, tamper, generator, etc.)

· Train locating of buried wire, cabling, and utilities

· Train underground communications cabling installation (pedestals, hand holes)

· Train proper flagging and traffic control practices

· Train property and worksite restoration

· Conduct worksite walk-throughs and address field issues

· Assist managers with employee development plans

· Maintain training records and documentation
