The Trail Crew position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Bike Park trails and other mountain bike and hiking trails on the mountain, while providing quality customer service.


Essential Functions of the Job

  • Annual maintenance of all trails at Bogus Basin including Ridge to Rivers trails.
  • Conduct all safety checks.
  • Maintain condition of the biking and hiking trails throughout the season.
  • Advise and assist guests using the trails.
  • Assist with the organization of the Community race series as well as other biking and running races.
  • Immediately inform Trails Manager of any condition or occurrence which may adversely affect the safety of the trail system.
  • Present a professional and positive image of the company while interacting with guests and other Bogus employees.
  • Non-Essential Functions of the Job
  • Assist in mountain rescue efforts, if necessary.
  • Perform other related tasks, as necessary.

Requirements


  • Passionate about Bogus Basin’s Mission.
  • Experience riding mountain bikes preferred.
  • Ability to ride majority of all of Bogus Basin's trails.
  • Ability to stand, balance, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to use hand tools including a rake, pulaski, shovel, and broom.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds above shoulder level.
  • Ability to safely ride and hike all designated routes.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to complete a background check.

Working Conditions


  • The majority of time is spent in an outdoor environment.
  • Position is regularly exposed to inclement weather.
  • Vibration and noise are present in the work environment.
  • Personal Appearance
  • When in the public eye, your personal appearance is an important part of the product we offer our guests. You should come to work neatly groomed and in uniform. In addition to the uniform shirt trail crew need the following equipment:
  • Suitable hiking boots
  • Work gloves, durable and in good repair
  • Hat or sun protection and suitable eyewear.
