TRAFFIC ENGINEERING SEASONAL DAY LABORER
$25.00 -$28.00/hour
The City of Everett Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for a Traffic Engineering Seasonal Day Laborer. This employment is temporary (up to six months in duration). It is mandatory that the employee in this position contribute to theWashington State Public Employees Retirement System. This contribution is refundable upon the employees request at the completion of employment. These positions are not provided with City of Everett benefits.
SCHEDULE:This position will work up to 40 hours per week.
NATUREOFWORK
The work includes performing a variety of physical tasks relating to the maintenance and repair of traffic control devices on city streets, including signs and markings. Duties may include, but are not limited to graffiti abatement, curb painting, new installations and maintenance work on traffic signs, markings, traffic signals, and other traffic control devices. The work includes the use of hand tools and light automotive equipment, such as a post hole digger and other tools to place signs in proper location or repair broken and damaged signs. Also includes operating striping machines, pavement marking removal machines, brushes, and other tools for the installation and maintenance of pavement markings such as traffic lines, raised pavement markers, crosswalks, curbs, turn arrows and letters, and no-parking zones. The work may include assisting traffic signal technicians in the regular maintenance of traffic signals and lighting systems. The work may also include driving a buffer vehicle or cone setting for a mobile long line striping operation.
