A highly regarded intellectual property law firm is seeking a Trademark and Copyright Associate Attorney to join its expanding New York, New York office. This position is ideal for attorneys with substantial experience managing global trademark portfolios, conducting complex trademark clearance analyses, and advising clients on brand protection strategies across multiple jurisdictions.
The successful candidate will work with nationally and internationally recognized brands on sophisticated trademark, copyright, and intellectual property matters. Associates will have the opportunity to advise clients on global brand management initiatives, enforcement strategies, portfolio development, and trademark prosecution while collaborating with experienced intellectual property practitioners.
This position rarely becomes available at this experience level and is actively interviewing qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities
• Conduct and manage high-volume trademark clearance reviews across multiple jurisdictions
• Analyze trademark search results and provide risk assessments and strategic recommendations
• Develop and implement global trademark filing, maintenance, and enforcement programs
• Manage large domestic and international trademark portfolios
• Advise clients regarding trademark selection, registration, protection, and enforcement strategies
• Coordinate with foreign counsel on international trademark matters
• Monitor and address trademark infringement and brand protection issues
• Assist with copyright counseling and intellectual property protection matters
• Prepare legal opinions, memoranda, and client advisory materials
• Handle Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings when applicable
• Collaborate with clients to develop long-term global brand management strategies
• Stay current on evolving trademark and copyright laws affecting client portfolios

Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of significant trademark and brand management experience
• Experience handling high-volume domestic and international trademark clearance matters
• Strong background managing global trademark portfolios
• Experience developing trademark filing and enforcement strategies
• TTAB experience preferred but not required
• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Strong communication and client counseling capabilities
• Active admission to practice law in the United States
• Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
