Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to support precision manufacturing operations in the aerospace sector. The role involves building, repairing, and maintaining high-precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in the production of aerospace components. The ideal candidate will ensure all tooling meets strict quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, fabricate, and assemble precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in aerospace manufacturing.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
- Operate machining equipment such as CNC machines, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
- Perform tool adjustments, repairs, and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve tooling efficiency and product quality.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, tolerances, and specifications.
- Inspect finished tools using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain documentation for tooling designs, modifications, and maintenance records.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality control guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in Tool & Die Making preferred.
- 3–7+ years of experience in tool and die making, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing.
- Experience with Carbide dies in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and heat treatment methods.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Proficiency with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
