Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Description

This role focuses on precision TIG welding of aluminum and stainless steel components for fabricated parts, with additional work using MIG welding on mild steel. You will interpret weld symbols and prints to produce clean, watertight welds with no bleeds, supporting fabrication projects for a variety of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality TIG welding on aluminum materials ranging from .040 to 1/8 inch, ensuring watertight welds with no bleeds.
  • Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel materials from 24 gauge to 1/8 inch, ensuring watertight welds with no bleeds.
  • Use MIG welding on mild steel from 20 gauge to 1/4 inch in multiple positions while maintaining strong, clean welds.
  • Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, and fabrication prints to complete jobs accurately and to specification.
  • Fit and align aluminum and stainless steel components prior to welding to ensure proper assembly and structural integrity.
  • Inspect welds for quality, consistency, and adherence to project requirements, making adjustments as needed.
  • Work efficiently in a fabrication shop environment while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members and follow established processes to complete fabrication projects on time.
Essential Skills
  • Proven TIG welding experience with aluminum materials from .040 to 1/8 inch, producing watertight welds with no bleeds.
  • Proven TIG welding experience with stainless steel from 24 gauge to 1/8 inch, producing watertight welds with no bleeds.
  • Ability to perform MIG welding on mild steel from 20 gauge to 1/4 inch in multiple positions.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, and fabrication prints.
  • Hands-on experience welding aluminum and stainless steel in a fabrication or similar shop environment.
  • Fitting skills to properly position and align parts prior to welding.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, consistent, and structurally sound welds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • MIG welding experience is a plus and will be considered an asset.
  • Comfort working with a variety of gauges and thicknesses in aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.
  • Ability to work across multiple welding positions as required by the project.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in an organized fabrication environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a cleaner fabrication shop with an organized layout that supports efficient and safe work. Multiple shift options are available, including a first shift from 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and a second shift from 1:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. with a shift premium. You will work with TIG and MIG welding equipment on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel materials in a shop environment that emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and a strong culture.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
