Description of PositionCommunity Counseling of Bristol County is seeking Bachelor’s level candidates to join our Therapeutic Mentoring program to serve the Taunton/New Bedford area. Therapeutic Mentors provide one to one intervention and therapeutic skill- building to youth, ages 7 to 21, to address daily living, social, communication and emotional regulation skills challenges. TM’s will meet with the youth in the community to support and coach the development of self-management, problem-solving, conflict-resolution skills, as well as develop strategies for effective handling of peer interactions. Skill building is provided while engaging youth in a variety of ways, including social, recreational, athletic, artistic, educational and vocational activities.
The Therapeutic Mentoring program at CCBC offers a collaborative team approach that values self-care You will receive trauma-informed individual supervision from a licensed clinician, as well as training on trauma, early childhood mental health, child development and creating skill building interventions specific to the needs of youth.
