Job Title: Test Technician / SMT Operator

Job Description

Join our innovative team specializing in manufacturing for military and defense customers, focusing on creating cutting-edge circuit boards for products such as night vision goggles used by the US Army and safety belts for coal miners. This role involves class 3 soldering, which is mission-critical as it contributes to the safety and efficiency of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce Quality Management procedures in the Manufacturing area.
  • Conduct inspection of incoming items.
  • Verify machine setup on the SMT line.
  • Testing of materials
  • Perform First Article inspections (FAI) of assembled products, including completing FAI paperwork in line with AS9100 procedures.
  • Document defects and convert data into usable form.
  • Conduct Final Inspection of all outgoing hardware.
  • Write QA reports as required by supervisor/management.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor/management.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 requirements and J-STD-001, Space Addendum soldering standards.
  • Proficiency in Component Identification and Polarity.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings.
  • Capability to produce written reports and perform minor statistical calculations.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to lift and carry a maximum of 35 pounds over short distances.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in an electronics manufacturing environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.50/hr.
