Job Description

We are seeking a Test Engineer with 3–5 years of experience in automotive embedded systems testing, specializing in Transmission Control Units (TCU) for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ECU test tools, embedded programming, and calibration activities, supporting the development and validation of transmission control software.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain software test cases for Transmission Control Units (TCU)
  • Perform SIL, MIL, HIL, and vehicle-level testing for transmission control software
  • Use INCA, CANalyzer, and CANoe for ECU communication, measurement, calibration, and diagnostics
  • Validate control logic, I/O behavior, and fault handling of micro-controller–based systems
  • Perform software calibration and support tuning activities to meet performance and drivability requirements
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams for root cause analysis
  • Support regression testing, integration testing, and release sign-off activities
  • Ensure compliance with OEM and program-specific quality and functional safety processes
  • Create and maintain test documentation, reports, and traceability artifacts


Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with INCA, CANalyzer, and CANoe
  • Strong programming skills in C / C++
  • Working knowledge of C#, Python, or similar scripting languages for test automation
  • Experience in micro-controller I/O programming, signal handling, and control logic validation
  • Solid understanding of embedded automotive software testing
  • Experience with software testing, validation, and calibration
  • Familiarity with CAN communication protocols and automotive diagnostics (UDS preferred)

Domain Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of automatic and/or manual transmission systems
  • Experience working with Transmission Controllers (TCU) for ICE vehicles
  • Knowledge of vehicle-level testing environments and powertrain interactions


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with an Automotive OEM or Tier‑1 supplier
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks
  • Knowledge of ASPICE, V-model development, or OEM-specific development processes
  • Understanding of drivability, shift quality, and torque management concepts


Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automotive, or related discipline)
