We’re hiring Temporary Seasonal Laborers for full-time positions from spring through early fall. Whether you’re building your résumé, expanding your skills, or just love working outside, we have opportunities for you.

FORESTRY – Starting at $14/hour (higher with relevant experience)
Mon–Fri, 7am–3pm
• Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding
• Tilling and planting flowers
• Mulching landscape beds and paths
• Miscellaneous outdoor maintenance
• May assist other divisions during inclement weather
Positions start in early April or mid-May and run through August; some continue until October.
FACILITIES – Starting at $14/hour (one role at $18/hour)
Mon–Fri 7am–3pm; one position Wed–Sun 7am–3pm at $18/hour
• Set up and take down mobile signs
• Park attendant and janitorial duties
• Assist with road and crosswalk painting
• Barricading, traffic and parking control
• Other general public works tasks
Positions begin mid- to late May (earlier start possible).
SANITATION & STREETS – Starting at $18/hour
• Fill street cracks and potholes with the tar crew
• Deliver garbage carts
• Assist with garbage and recycling collection
• Other street and sanitation tasks
City Drop-Off Center Attendant – $18/hour
Tue–Fri 11am–7pm, Sat 8am–4pm (hours subject to change)
• Check driver’s licenses
• Direct residents to proper drop-off areas
Positions begin late May to early June.
WATER – Starting at $14/hour
Mon–Fri 7am–3pm
• Paint hydrants (weather permitting)
• Assist with other tasks during inclement weather
• At least 18 years of age
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a driving record that meets City standards:
– No more than 2 moving violations in the last 18 months
– No more than 3 moving violations in the last 36 months
– No more than 1 chargeable accident in the last 18 months or 2 in the last 36 months
– No more than 6 demerit points in the last 12 months
– No OWI or reckless driving convictions in the past 5 years
Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, including:
• Operating mowing equipment
• Continuous lifting up to 20 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs. with assistance
• Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and entering/exiting vehicles
• Working in outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, rain, dust, odors, noise, and traffic
**Recent experience with manual labor preferred.
