The Opportunity

CEO is currently seeking a Temporary Recruiting Coordinator to provide essential administrative and operational support to our Talent team. The Coordinator will assist Talent Associates and hiring managers in the recruitment of outstanding, values-aligned team members. This role is vital in ensuring a seamless hiring process across our various sites.

The Recruiting Coordinator will support major talent acquisition initiatives by assisting with sourcing efforts, candidate outreach, coordinating recruitment interviews, and maintaining partnerships with various organizations. This position will play a key role in implementing sustainable hiring processes and systems, ensuring that our recruitment standards of practice are consistently met as we continue to grow.

Who We Are

The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) provides employment services to people recently released from incarceration. Across the United States, 8,000-9,000 people participate in CEO each year, transitioning to employment that supports themselves, their families, and their communities.

What began as a demonstration project of the Vera Institute of Justice in the 1970s to address employment barriers facing the formerly incarcerated following release in New York City has grown into the leading reentry employment organization in the country, where over 30,000 formerly incarcerated individuals have secured full-time employment since 1996.

Who You Are

Education and Experience

  • You have at least a year of relevant work experience, with a strong interest in learning the fundamentals of full-cycle recruiting within a mission-driven organization.
  • You’ve demonstrated an aptitude and ability with technology (with the Google Suite and preferably with applicant tracking systems)

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Key responsibilities of the Recruitment Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Assist Talent Associates in executing recruitment strategies by helping to identify sourcing channels and maintaining the regional recruitment calendar of events.
  • Provide administrative support to Talent Associates and hiring managers, including scheduling interviews and providing status updates throughout the search process.
  • Support the team by opening new requisitions, posting job descriptions, reviewing initial candidate materials, and helping to coordinate the logistics of performance tasks and offer letters.
  • Support initial candidate screening efforts, including conducting structured phone screens and documenting candidate insights for review
  • Contribute to the cultivation of diverse candidate pipelines by assisting with the coordination of recruitment networking events and maintaining robust candidate lists to support future hiring needs
  • Support the creation and maintenance of recruitment resource banks and assist in the documentation of best practices.
  • Help collect and organize candidate and hiring process data for distribution to stakeholders.
  • Assist with the flow of background check workflows to ensure offer processes remain compliant with organizational standards.
  • Continue building upon greater inclusion and cultural competence within our team’s projects and efforts

Serve as an active and proactive contributor and collaborator of the larger Employee Experience (EX) team, including leading/engaging in team meetings, representing the EX team on org-wide committees.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $47,800 - 61,700/annually. CEO's compensation philosophy considers a variety of factors including experience, internal equity, and the labor market associated with the city in which the position is located. The labor markets associated with the cities in which CEO is based are variable, and the salary range included here reflects this. Our salary offer will fall within this range and will be reflective of the labor market of the city in which the position is based, as well the other factors named above.
