Duties/Responsibilities:- Helps with orders and verifies receipt of meals from the County designated caterer in accordance with Program Policies and Procedures, including timely preparation and submission of reports which verify meals receipt and service (Meal Charge Slips – NP 50, Daily Foodservice Report – NP 36, Weekly Report forms NP 39). Also responsible to help with the monthly Nutrition Site Report and NAPIS forms for all new participants.
- Takes in food from caterer, takes temperatures and properly heats up or keeps food cool to Food Safety Guidelines.
- Serves food with proper measurements for balanced diets prescribed by Contra Costa County Social Services.
- Will be responsible for assisting with daily financial deposits.
- Will assist in checking all participants in each day.
- Assist with Inventories and ordering supplies and paper goods.
- Help with volunteers in food handling techniques, record keeping and other Café operations functions. Utilizes senior citizen participant volunteers to the fullest extent possible in performing routine functions (i.e. food service, clean-up, daily attendance, income count, etc). Will assist with the safeguard and reporting of participant Meal Income Contributions and Non-Senior Meals Fees, in accordance with State and Federal regulations and Program Policies and Procedures.
Minimum Requirement:Must be a minimum of 18 years old. Have the ability to follow oral/written instructions; ability to organize activities and provide simple instructions to participants; ability to deal with the public, handle stressful situations and to act in a professional manner, and must be able to carry and lift up to 50lbs. Must have a valid California deriver's license.
Hours:This is a temporary part-time position. The Nutrition Cafe Coordinator is required to work Mondays & Tuesdays 9 am - 1 pm with an occasional substitute for Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
Shifts are subject to change and are dependent upon program needs. Maximum of 1000 hours per fiscal year. This position is not eligible for City benefits. Paid sick leave will be accrued in accordance with the Healthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act of 2014 (Assembly Bill1522).
