Temporary Assistant Attorney General II

We’re partnering with the Office of the Attorney General through Goodwill Temporary Services to bring on a Temporary Assistant Attorney General II supporting the Child Support Division. This is a great opportunity for attorneys looking to make a meaningful impact while gaining hands-on experience in family law and state-level legal proceedings.

What You’ll Do:

• Represent the State of Texas in child support and medical support cases
• Assist in locating, establishing, enforcing, modifying, and terminating court orders
• Participate in judicial and administrative hearings
• Provide legal guidance and support to program staff
• Conduct legal research, investigations, and draft legal opinions
• Support trial attorneys and contribute to case strategy
• Assist with training and knowledge sharing within the team

What We’re Looking For:

• Preferably 1+ year of experience handling Family Law cases in Texas
• Experience managing a high-volume caseload
• Strong skills in legal writing, negotiation, and mediation
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in the State of Texas

Work Environment:

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs
