A great UHY client is seeking an Interim Controller. The ideal candidate will have controllership experience, ERP implementation experience, and engineering industry experience.
The Interim Controller role is a remote position. This is a temporary, contract position.
Interim Controller Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and other key financial analyses.
- Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Manage daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to a team of junior accounting professionals.
- Support ERP implementation and go-live activities, including process improvements and system optimization.
- Identify gaps in accounting processes and implement solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Partner with leadership to support business objectives and financial decision-making.
- Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements where needed.
- Assist with special projects and other accounting and finance initiatives as assigned.
Interim Controller Requirements
- Proven experience serving in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger management, and account reconciliations.
- Experience leading and developing accounting staff.
- Ability to effectively manage teams through organizational change and process improvements.
- Strong systems aptitude and experience supporting ERP implementations or system go-live projects.
- Experience working in the engineering industry is preferred.
- Experience with Deltek Advantage is preferred.
- Experience with BlackLine is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly assess challenges, prioritize work, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
