Reports to Unit Management. Responsible for the written records and reports which comprise the patient's medical record for each hospital admission/visit, processes all physicians orders; maintains chart forms for nursing personnel to record their observations on patient care; files reports from ancillary departments pertaining to each patient. Functions as a Monitor Tech. May schedule appointments, cases, and add-ons; may enter charges for services. Also accountable for maintaining open communication between nursing staff, physician, inter-departmental personnel and the patient.
