DESCRIPTION
Summary
Michael Baker International is seeking a Telecommunications Designer (RCDD) in our Salt Lake City (Midvale), UT market. The Telecommunications Designer will play a key role in planning and designing complete low‑voltage and electronic communication systems across a range of project types, working alongside experienced designers and engineers. This role offers hands‑on involvement in the design of structured cabling, electronic security, and audio/visual systems for commercial, industrial, military, and institutional facilities.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical judgment, practical design experience, and a solid understanding of industry standards to support system layouts, calculations, specifications, and construction documentation. RCDD‑credentialed professionals will find opportunities to apply their expertise across diverse systems—including access control, CCTV, DAS, SCADA, and structured cabling—while contributing to high‑quality, code‑compliant designs and collaborating across disciplines from concept through construction.

WORKPLACE FLEXIBILITY
The position allows for a hybrid flexible work schedule, with preference for candidates close to our San Diego, CA office. Other available locations for a hybrid flexible schedule are Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Phoenix, AZ or Seattle, WA.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $111,000- $150,000. The actual salary offered will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
