Job Title: Techno-Functional Lead — Java Fullstack (Capital Markets)

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid — 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Techno-Functional Lead with a strong background in Java Fullstack development and deep Capital Markets domain expertise. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams, driving end-to-end solution delivery across trading, settlements, and asset servicing platforms at Northern Trust.

Responsibility

• Lead end-to-end techno-functional delivery of Capital Markets applications across Front, Middle, and Back Office.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, PMs, and architects to gather, analyze, and translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Design and develop scalable Java Fullstack solutions using Spring Boot, Microservices, React/Angular.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of 5–10 developers.
• Drive solution architecture, code reviews, and best practices across the development lifecycle.
• Work closely with business analysts on trade lifecycle, settlements, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives.
• Coordinate with QA, DevOps, and release management teams for smooth deployments.
• Manage stakeholder communication and provide regular status updates to senior leadership.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies proactively.
