Overview
A top-tier technology company ($100B+ market cap) in the cybersecurity space is seeking a Technical Revenue Manager to join its growing accounting team. This is a high-impact role offering strong compensation and equity, along with high visibility across Sales, Legal, and FP&A.
This position will focus on technical ASC 606 accounting, contract review, and revenue close, with ownership over complex revenue projects and the opportunity to influence deal structuring and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Sales Operations to review non-standard contracts and assess revenue recognition impact under ASC 606
- Provide guidance on deal structuring to optimize revenue outcomes while ensuring compliance
- Own and support month-end and quarter-end close, including reviewing non-routine transactions, preparing journal entries, and documenting conclusions
- Research and resolve complex revenue accounting issues and non-standard transactions
- Prepare and maintain technical accounting memos and position papers
- Monitor revenue-related inquiries and provide timely guidance to business partners
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue processes, controls, and efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with SOX 404 controls related to revenue
- Support external audits and related documentation requests
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects and system/process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including technical revenue accounting (ASC 606)
- Prior public accounting (Big 4 or similar) experience expected
- CPA or CPA track strongly preferred
- Experience preparing technical accounting memos and documentation
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with cross-functional stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP, Salesforce (SFDC), or similar ERP/CRM systems
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Experience in technology or SaaS environments
- Familiarity with automation tools or AI-driven workflows is a plus
