About the Internship

Are you passionate about technology, learning, and design? Do you enjoy taking complex ideas and turning them into clear, engaging experiences for others? If so, BlueLinx’s Technical Learning Experience Design Intern role offers a hands‑on opportunity to build real‑world experience inside an enterprise IT environment—while helping people learn how to use modern systems and tools effectively.

This internship is ideal for students interested in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design (LXD), Educational Technology, or IT who want to apply their skills in a practical, impactful setting. You’ll work closely with BlueLinx’s IT team to design learning content that supports enterprise systems, digital tools, reporting platforms, and emerging technologies—including AI‑enabled solutions.

What You’ll Do:

As a Technical Learning Experience Design Intern, you’ll help bring learning experiences to life by:

  • Supporting the design and development of learner‑centered training materials for enterprise systems, applications, and IT processes
  • Creating and updating job aids, system guides, presentations, videos, and eLearning modules using instructional design and LXD best practices
  • Collaborating with IT subject matter experts and business partners to turn technical workflows into clear, engaging, and easy‑to‑understand learning content
  • Helping drive adoption of business applications, reporting tools, and AI‑enabled technologies through intuitive and structured learning experiences
  • Organizing, maintaining, and updating content in learning platforms and shared repositories to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability
  • Reviewing, testing, and refining learning materials based on stakeholder feedback and learner needs

Why This Internship Matters:

This role gives you real exposure to enterprise IT and learning design, not just observation. Your work will be used by real employees across the organization, helping them succeed in their roles. You’ll gain practical experience, build a professional portfolio, and learn how learning solutions are designed at scale within a corporate environment.
