TITLE: Technical Editor/Writer (US Citizenship REQUIRED)

MAX RATE: $61.75/hr W2 (no health benefits/no paid PTO while on contract-an hour worked is an hour paid)

DURATION: 12+ month contract

LOCATION: Grand Prairie, TX (no relocation package)

HYBRID: Contractor selected will work onsite full time for the first few weeks of the assignment, and then move to hybrid schedule of 1-2 days from home

We are seeking a Technical Editor/Writer to work a contract hybrid position in Grand Prairie, TX.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.

Editing and Writing of: Operating Procedures, Acceptance Test procedures, Calibration Procedures, Installation Procedures, Test Requirements Documents, Support Review and Release processes for documents Using Windchill, Follow and Support Configuration Management for the program.


REQUIRED SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related field.

6+ years of technical writing experience in aerospace, defense, or high‑tech environments; prior work with test equipment documentation preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and PLM systems (Windchill experience required).

Familiarity with ECSS, MIL‑STD, or other aerospace documentation standards.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear instructions.

Understanding Change Control processes and configuration management.
