Technical Designer -Jewelry/ Hardware

Our client, a fashion brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join their Jewelry/ Hardware team on a contract basis in their New York office.

Responsibilities:

• Execute technical specifications for hardware development
• Complete and update tech packs for factory hand off
• Thoroughly review all vendor technical specs and apply clear and concise feedback
• CAD support through Illustrator and Rhino renderings based on conceptual direction
• Trouble shoot and provide technical guidance to hardware Design Team
• Organized file saving processes for designs easy reference of materials like specs, vendor technical designs and 3D files.
• Assist in communication between PD and design for hardware
• Partner very closely with the Design & Product Development teams

Requirements:

• BA/BS/BFA degree or equivalent life experience
• Minimum 5-7 years in Technical Design within assigned category
• Experience with PLM (Centric), or other Product Management system
• Proficient in Rhino 3D, Sub D, Z-Brush and Adobe Illustrator
• Strong taste level and design aesthetic
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Able to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment
