Position Description

The Team Leader in the production cleanroom plays a pivotal role in overseeing a team of production associates within Applied Medical's regulated cleanroom environment. By leading, guiding, and motivating the team, this position ensures adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and production goals. The Team Leader collaborates cross-functionally to streamline manufacturing workflows, provides training and development opportunities for team members, and facilitates effective communication to support smooth operations.

This position will have support opportunities at several Applied Medical locations, including our Rancho Santa Margarita and Lake Forest manufacturing facilities. We offer 1st, 2nd, with a Monday - Friday weekly schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide a team of production associates, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and quality standards
  • Provide guidance, support, and motivation to team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Coach and train team members to align performance management practices with company policies and goals
  • Make staffing decisions, such as hiring, scheduling, and performance management, to maintain a high-performing team
  • Monitor and manage the production processes to ensure timely and accurate manufacturing of medical devices
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control and logistics, to streamline production workflows
  • Analyze production data and metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Train new team members on production procedures, safety guidelines, and quality control measures
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members
  • Facilitate effective communication between team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Report production status, challenges, and achievements to higher management, fostering transparency and alignment

  • Maintaining a high-performing, engaged, and safety-conscious production team that consistently meets or exceeds quality and productivity targets
  • Driving continuous improvement in production processes through data analysis, problem-solving, and collaborative cross-functional initiatives
  • Effectively onboarding and training new team members to rapidly achieve proficiency in critical manufacturing tasks
  • Establishing clear communication channels and fostering a culture of transparency and accountability across the production environment
  • Proactively identifying and addressing team member development needs to build a skilled, versatile, and adaptable workforce

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend work and safety instructions
  • Leadership and coaching abilities to guide, motivate, and develop a team of production associates
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Experience working in cleanroom and laboratory manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, for documentation and data analysis

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing a team to achieve production, quality, and safety goals
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address challenges in the production process
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and key performance indicator analysis
  • Exposure to medical device manufacturing or other regulated, quality-driven production environments
