Contract Duration: 12 Weeks - (Possible Extension)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM (30-minute meal break)

Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TOD/DHH) to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing loss. This role ensures equitable access to the curriculum through individualized instruction, communication development, and collaboration with staff and families.
The TOD/DHH plays a vital role in supporting students’ academic achievement, language acquisition, and independence.
Qualifications
- Valid certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students with hearing loss in educational settings
- Proficiency in communication approaches such as ASL and/or total communication preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Academic Support
- Provide direct instruction in one-on-one and small group settings
- Deliver specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
Communication Development
- Support language development using communication modes such as ASL, spoken language, or total communication
- Facilitate expressive and receptive language growth
IEP Development & Case Management
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track and analyze student progress data
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration
Audiological & Assistive Technology Management
- Manage and troubleshoot hearing technology (hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants)
- Ensure consistent student access to auditory information throughout the school day
Consultation & Collaboration
- Partner with general education teachers, service providers, and administrators
- Collaborate with families and audiologists
- Recommend classroom accommodations and modifications
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct assessments of auditory, language, academic, and functional skills
- Use data to guide instruction and support eligibility decisions
