We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tax Manager to join our growing team and help lead our accounting operations with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.


Role Description

As a Tax Manager at AFairchild CPA Firm, you will play a critical role in managing tax engagements for a diverse client base, including individuals, corporations, and partnerships. You will be responsible for supervising tax staff, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and advising clients on complex tax matters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in tax research, and committed to delivering top-quality service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance and Planning: Oversee the preparation and review of corporate, partnership, nonprofit, andindividual tax returns. Implement tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and capitalize on opportunities tooptimize clients' financial success.
  • Client Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining and growing relationships.Provide expert tax advice tailored to clients’ specific needs and financial goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, promoting a culture of high performance andcontinuous improvement. Facilitate professional development and training opportunities for team members.
  • Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. Stay abreast of new taxpolicies and legislation that may affect the firm and its clients.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax-related risks. Implement robust controls and review mechanisms toensure accuracy and compliance in all tax-related activities.
  • Business Development: Assist in the firm’s growth initiatives by participating in business development activities and networking with potential clients and industry professionals.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; a master’s degree in taxation is highly preferred.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax role with a public accounting firm, including at least 3 years in a managerial position.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax codes, compliance requirements, and procedures for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
  • Experience in Residential and Nonresidential Rental Real Estate preferred
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and developing staff
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage client relationships and interact with all levels of staff and management.
