POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Tax Attorney to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise across federal and state tax law, estate planning strategy, and wealth preservation, with the ability to advise a diverse client base ranging from high-net-worth individuals and families to closely held business owners. This is a client-facing role requiring exceptional analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively.


The work is transactional, strategic, and relationship-driven with direct client responsibility from day one.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provide sophisticated legal counsel on business transactions, estate planning, and tax optimization strategies, serving as a trusted advisor to business owners and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Draft, analyze, and revise business structuring agreements, estate plans, trust instruments, and tax-planning documents, ensuring compliance with applicable statutes and regulations.
  • Research and interpret complex tax and estate laws to develop practical, client-centered solutions.
  • Manage case files strategically, maintaining documentation accuracy and coordinating with legal and administrative team members.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all applicable legal standards and professional responsibility requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across a nationwide client base.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on client strategy and firm initiatives.


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice law in Arizona
  • At least 5 years in tax and estate planning is preferred 
  • Strong analytical and legal judgment with the ability to handle complex, multi-issue matters independently
  • Advanced legal research and writing ability
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relations skills; able to build trust with sophisticated clients
  • Rigorous attention to detail and strong organizational habits
  • Collaborative and collegial — comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Adaptable to new legal and practice management software
  • Dual credentials in law and accounting are preferred
