A leading global law firm is seeking a talented Tax Associate Attorney to join its highly regarded tax practice in Houston, Texas. This position is ideal for attorneys with experience advising clients on federal tax matters, renewable energy tax credits, private equity transactions, and sophisticated corporate transactions.


The successful candidate will work closely with experienced tax attorneys and multidisciplinary deal teams on complex transactional matters involving businesses, investors, private equity sponsors, and energy industry participants. Associates will receive meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and exposure to high-profile transactions that shape evolving industries.


This position rarely becomes available at this level and is actively interviewing qualified candidates.

Job Responsibilities


• Advise clients regarding the tax implications of corporate transactions and business restructurings

• Analyze federal tax issues associated with mergers, acquisitions, and private equity transactions

• Assist with renewable energy tax credit matters and energy-related investment structures

• Draft, review, and negotiate tax provisions within transactional documents

• Conduct legal research regarding federal tax laws, regulations, and administrative guidance

• Support clients in structuring transactions to achieve tax-efficient outcomes

• Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, finance, energy, and private equity practice groups

• Prepare tax memoranda, legal opinions, and client advisory materials

• Evaluate tax risks and opportunities arising from complex business transactions

• Participate in transaction planning, due diligence, and deal execution activities

• Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax planning strategies and regulatory developments

Qualifications


• 2–5 years of federal tax or transactional tax experience

• Experience involving renewable energy tax credits preferred

• Experience supporting corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, or private equity matters preferred

• Strong legal writing and drafting skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Strong academic credentials

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams

• Active bar admission in the state of residence or eligibility to waive into the applicable jurisdiction

• Residence in or ability to work from the Houston, Dallas, Nashville, or Washington, DC area
