About the Role
We’re seeking a Systems Engineer to join a fast-growing, client-focused IT services organization supporting hedge funds and investment firms. This is a 100% dedicated onsite role, embedded directly with a high-profile financial services client across their NYC and Stamford offices.
In this position, you’ll act as an extension of the broader IT support team providing hands-on systems and end-user support while working closely with other Systems Engineers and Senior Systems Engineers in a highly collaborative environment. This role offers strong exposure to enterprise technologies, structured processes, and excellent opportunities for technical and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite IT support to end users across NYC and Stamford offices
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, desktop, mobile, and system issues
- Manage and track support requests using a ticketing system
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and follow organizational standards
- Adhere to formal change control procedures and operational policies
- Support and maintain IT infrastructure and user-facing systems onsite
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of IT experience (Desktop Support, Systems Engineering, or Systems Administration)
- Strong end-user support skills across:
- Microsoft Windows
- Microsoft Office
- Desktop and mobile device troubleshooting
- Experience supporting a Microsoft 365 environment, including:
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- Intune
- Azure Active Directory
- Working knowledge of:
- Windows Server platforms
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- (Nice to have) Citrix XenApp
- Experience supporting endpoint protection tools (Sophos or similar)
- Basic understanding of:
- Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls)
- Prior experience working in an MSP environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience
- Financial services or hedge fund environments
- Familiarity with market data applications such as:
- Bloomberg
- Thomson Reuters
- FactSet
- Capital IQ
- Extensive MSP experience, especially with ConnectWise tools
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Experience supporting tools such as:
- Google Workspace
- Box, Dropbox
- Duo, Okta, AirWatch
- Experience with mail security gateways (Mimecast, Proofpoint, IronPort)
- Exposure to endpoint security tools such as CrowdStrike, Cylance, Carbon Black, or SentinelOne
- Advanced understanding of storage and virtualization platforms (Nimble, Pure, NetApp, EMC, VMware, Hyper-V, XenServer)
