Job Description

Our customer is building a Digital Transformation Organization that will focus on leveraging Data to increase productivity and income across the enterprise. They recently formed their Management Team and now they are approved to begin hiring their technical and functional team members to focus on their primary Use Case, Modern Sales.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to build and support production‑grade decisioning and data processing systems in a highly rules‑driven enterprise environment.

This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on Python‑based decision pipelines, business‑rule implementation, and CI/CD delivery. Exposure to enterprise AI or LLM capabilities may occur when required, but the primary emphasis is on reliable, maintainable, production systems rather than experimentation or research.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, build, and supportscalable Python‑based processing and decisioning pipelines usingPySpark and Pandas
• Translatecomplex business rules and domain logic into clean, testable, and maintainabledecisioning systems
• Buildmodular, reusable components suitable for orchestrated, production workflows
• Integrateenterprise AI or LLM services when needed, including basic prompt/template configuration and structured output parsing
• Applystandard safety and compliance controls (e.g., PII handling, input/output validation)
• Integrateinternal and external APIs with robust error handling and retry strategies
• Implementdata validation, structured logging, and monitoring to support production observability and troubleshooting
• Participate inGit‑based development, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and conflict resolution
• Build and maintainCI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, including release workflows and deployment monitoring
• Support and troubleshootlive production systems

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong, hands‑on experience withPython engineering for production systems
• Advanced proficiency withPySpark and Pandas
• Proven experience implementingbusiness rules, decision logic, or rule‑driven systems
• Experience working withAgentic AI systems or AI‑assisted workflows
• Solid understanding ofGit‑based delivery models
• Hands‑on experience withAzure DevOps, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment monitoring
• Experience supportingenterprise production workloads

Nice to Have

• Experience inutilities, energy, or other rules‑heavy domains
• Familiarity withworkflow orchestration tools (ADF, Airflow, etc.)
• Prior exposure toapplied AI systems in enterprise environments

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
