The IT Systems Administrator works as a member of a cross-functional IT team with shared ownership of internal IT infrastructure at cPacket. This role is considered critical, must be on-site in cPacket’s Portland, OR office, and must be willing and able to travel to cPacket’s Milpitas, CA office for work as needed.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
● Providing exceptional Tier 2/3 IT Help Desk and IT Administration support for the organization across multiple locations (Milpitas CA, Portland OR, and various remote locations),
● Designing, implementing, scaling, monitoring, and maintaining our internal IT solutions (hardware and software),
● Contribute to the day-to-day operations of critical infrastructure that provides IT/Development services to internal customers,
● Combine your technical ability, strategic thinking, and detail-oriented execution in an agile environment; you will employ state-of-the-art tools and techniques to meet cPacket’s strategic objectives in the efforts to achieve the executive vision
● Shared ownership of the IT-system up-time and availability,
● Identifying, building, maintaining, and documenting Automation Tools and workflows to ultimately improve system provisioning, configuration, integration, deployment, and patch processes,
● Identifying, building, maintaining, and documenting process workflows for onboarding/offboarding of internal stakeholders,
● Managing various OS environments (Windows, Mac, Ubuntu), network equipment (Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco, etc), and other solutions (Active Directory Hybrid, GSuite, Office365, Avanan, SolarWinds IPAM, Netbox, Mosyle, ManageEngine MDM, etc)
● Designing, implementing, and maintaining an IT Disaster Recovery program,
● Collaborating with our Software Engineering, Product Management, Accounting, and Sales teams to implement and continuously improve solutions for a wide array of projects,
● Actively communicating with clients and vendors for the day-to-day operations,
● Creating knowledge base articles for commonly identified issues
Your communication skills will be strong in both verbal and written form.
Secondarily, you will be assisting systems engineers, and working independently, in efforts to design, install, maintain, and monitor new and existing technology projects as applicable. The supported technologies include laptops, servers, network devices, SaaS environments, and other related infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is experienced as a Systems Administrator. The ideal candidate would additionally be organized, detail-oriented, and possess good interpersonal skills. You will need to be effective at communicating with both technical and non-technical staff, as well as executives; translating complex concepts at a layman level.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
● 3+ years of applicable experience in Systems Administration/Engineering,
● Bachelors’ degree in an applicable information technology related major or equivalent relevant experience
● Solid written and verbal communication skills
● In-depth knowledge of most of the tools outlined, their associated technologies, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, NPS, Certificate Services, Python, Azure AD
● Windows administration skills - setup, troubleshooting, scripting, management
● Linux administration skills - setup, troubleshooting, scripting, management
● Strong familiarity with VMware, vCenter, vSphere and ESX and relative support
● Strong familiarity with administrating common collaboration tools
● Strong familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Slack, Go to Meeting, gSuite, O365. Zoom
● A team player comfortable working in a startup-like environment.
