Role Summary
The Systems Engineer provides technical leadership in the design, development, and integration of complex aerospace systems. This role focuses on requirements management, system analysis, and technology development to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions. The position collaborates cross-functionally, supports customer engagements, and drives projects from concept through validation while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead system design activities, provide technical guidance, and support internal/customer design reviews.
- Develop and manage requirements (elicitation, analysis, validation, traceability, and communication).
- Decompose customer needs into system, component, and interface requirements.
- Conduct system analysis, trade studies, and functional/performance testing; document and present findings.
- Research, develop, and integrate new technologies to improve performance and cost.
- Analyze operational and test data to define performance standards and assess feasibility of designs/tests.
- Prepare and deliver technical proposals and presentations to influence stakeholders and business decisions.
- Ensure protection of intellectual property and compliance with standards.
- Act as a technical consultant and mentor; support team development and project execution.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through research, training, and industry engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering or related technical/science discipline or Professional Engineer (PE) certification required; Master’s degree (MS) preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant experience; Thermal Systems experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, industry standards (ISO 9000/9001, AS9100), and regulations.
- Experience in technology development, integration, and R&D.
- Working knowledge of MBSE principles with tools like Cameo.
- Proficiency in data analysis and engineering design tools.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complex projects, track milestones, and deliver results.
- Capability to collaborate across engineering domains and respond to customer/regulatory inquiries.
