Position Overview
The BlackLine System Administrator will serve as the primary application owner and global administrator for reconciliation and financial close management platforms. This role is responsible for day-to-day application support, governance, configuration, user enablement, controls alignment, and process improvement across account reconciliations, transaction matching, journal entries, and task management.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience as a BlackLine, Trintech, or Oracle ARCS system administrator.
- Working knowledge of finance systems, especially reconciliation platforms such as BlackLine, Cadency, or Oracle ARCS.
- BlackLine experience is preferred.
- Experience with Account Reconciliation, Transaction Matching, Journal Entry, and Task Management modules.
- System administration experience across transaction matching, account reconciliations, journals, and task management.
- Experience developing reporting, analytics, metrics, and dashboards.
- Experience configuring match set rules, approval workflows, risk ratings, and user access provisioning.
- Understanding of core financial processes, accounting practices, and SOX compliance.
- Experience with multiple accounting bases, such as GAAP and statutory accounting.
- Experience gathering requirements, analyzing issues, facilitating meetings, documenting specifications, and coordinating projects.
- Experience with process improvement projects and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Windows 10, Microsoft Access, Business Objects, and SmartView.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the global administrator and subject matter expert for reconciliation and close management applications.
- Manage and resolve application-related requests from global users in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide hands-on cross-functional support to ensure the platform operates effectively across business teams.
- Configure and maintain account reconciliation, transaction matching, journal entry, and task management functionality.
- Support account setup, matching rule creation, reporting metrics, journal entry administration, task management, user communications, and system configurations.
- Train global users on application functionality, business processes, and proper system usage.
- Enforce reconciliation-related business policies and help ensure users complete required activities within established timelines.
- Use close management and variance analysis tools to identify potential issues, risks, or areas requiring attention.
- Coordinate application maintenance, upgrades, testing, enhancements, and implementation activities with IT and business users.
- Partner with IT on user issues, application changes, system maintenance, integrations, and related projects.
- Test new and existing functionality to confirm system performance and configuration accuracy.
- Support onboarding, business change requests, and process changes driven by organizational needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify inefficient processes and implement technology-enabled improvements.
- Develop, monitor, and report on metrics that measure adoption, efficiency, and process improvement outcomes.
- Provide expert guidance, recommendations, and broader organizational context to support decision-making.
- Stay current on new application features and help guide deployment of relevant releases.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience administering BlackLine, Trintech, Oracle ARCS, or a comparable financial reconciliation platform.
- Working knowledge of finance systems and reconciliation tools, preferably BlackLine.
- Experience administering account reconciliation, transaction matching, journal entry, and task management modules.
- Experience building or maintaining reports, analytics, dashboards, and operational metrics.
- Experience configuring matching rules, approval workflows, risk ratings, and user access.
- Solid understanding of financial close, reconciliation, accounting, and control processes.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and related financial control practices.
- Experience supporting multiple accounting bases, including GAAP and statutory accounting.
- Experience gathering business requirements, investigating problems, documenting specifications, and coordinating project activities.
- Experience supporting process improvement or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at the same time.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with leadership, business stakeholders, IT partners, and delivery teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access, Business Objects, SmartView, and Windows 10.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.

- Direct BlackLine administration experience.
- Experience supporting global users or globally deployed finance systems.
- Experience with BlackLine close management and variance analysis functionality.
- Experience coordinating application upgrades, enhancement releases, testing cycles, and production deployments.
- Experience supporting integrations between finance applications and upstream or downstream systems.
- Experience creating documented adoption plans, training materials, best practice recommendations, or process improvement roadmaps.
- Background working with finance, accounting, risk, controls, or audit stakeholders.
