Position: Surveillance Admin / VMS Technician

Type: 12-month Contract (possible extension/conversion)
Location: Charlotte, NC (3x hybrid)
Day to day:
- Manage and support video management systems (VMS) and physical security platforms
- Perform camera programming, configuration, and system troubleshooting
- Monitor system operability and ensure uptime across sites
- Coordinate with vendors and field teams for issue resolution and system validation
- Support deployment of new technologies (e.g., radar systems, detection platforms)
- Assist with project-based work, following direction from project managers
- Document configurations, updates, and system performance
- Provide support during site implementations and post-install validation
Must haves:
- Experience with video management systems (VMS) such as Avigilon, Genetec, ONSSI, or similar
- Background in physical security systems (IP cameras, access control, surveillance)
- Experience with system configuration, programming, and troubleshooting
- Ability to work in both operational support and project-based environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with vendors and internal teams
Plusses:
- Experience with Avigilon
- Background working for a security integrator
- Experience supporting enterprise-level physical security environments
- Exposure to new security technologies (e.g., radar, gunshot detection systems)
- Experience in hybrid IT/physical security roles
Salary and Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is between $33 - $35 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
