LifeGift Organ Donation Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Surgical Room Cleaner to join our team. The Surgical Room Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of our facility are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition. This vital role is essential in supporting our mission to provide life-saving organ donation services by contributing to a hygienic environment for both staff and donors.


Do you possess the attributes to be a successful Surgical Room Cleaner and perform these essential functions?

  • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of all public and private areas within the facility, including offices, waiting areas, restrooms, and donor procedure rooms. Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and techniques to ensure the elimination of pathogens.
  • Regularly clean and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, reporting any malfunctions or shortages to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all established health and safety regulations, organizational policies, and procedures related to infection control and surgical cleaning protocols.
  • Properly dispose of waste, including biohazardous materials, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assist in tracking and managing cleaning supplies inventory to ensure adequate stock levels for effective cleaning operations.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning activities to the Facilities Manager to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Work closely with other team members and departments to support overall operational needs and maintain a professional environment.


Do you have the education and experience to be a Surgical Room Cleaner?

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous sanitation experience, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and safe chemicals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with staff and visitors professionally.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with organizational requirements for health and safety.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Capacity to operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
