A Brief Overview

This is a per diem position with the CHOP Brandywine Valley (Glen Mills, PA) Surgery Center.

At least one year hospital experience in this tech setting. Sterile Processing and also Flexible Scope experience required. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is required.

The Surgical Center Technician works under the direction of the Nurse Manager. He/she reviews the daily surgical schedule to determine anesthesia equipment and provides adequate supplies for the Surgical Center. The Technician is a team player, who demonstrates good rapport and cooperative relationships with all members of the Surgical Center Team. He/she is flexible, shows pride in work, and performs in a capacity to ensure the success of the Surgical Center.

What you will do

• Reviews daily surgical caseload to determine anesthesia equipment and supplies required, facilitating anesthesia turnover and providing for adequate and efficient use of supplies for the Surgical Center.
• Demonstrates proper cleaning and sterilization of all anesthesia and O.R. equipment and instruments.
• Ensures that supplies and equipment are handled and stored properly according to manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Distributes supplies to operating room, anesthesia workstations, sterile supply rooms, pre-op, and PACU areas.
• Orders appropriate par level supplies for the ASC
• Perform HLD/S of instruments and endoscopes from the SCC

Education Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED Required

Experience Qualifications

• At least one (1) year experience in a health related field. Required

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrates basic computer skills (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) - upon hire - Required
