Schedule: Full time, day shift

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 1 - 2 years experience medical office scheduling (Required)
  • Knowledge of Medical and Surgical terminology and familiarity with surgical procedures
  • Computer skills

    Job Overview:

Schedules elective and urgent procedures, private and service cases, and coordinates with surgery and cysto schedule. Schedules pre-admission and pre-procedure testing in accordance with the department and hospital guidelines. Communicates pertinent information to appropriate departments/personnel (Bed Assignment, Specialty Coordinators, Pre-Surgical Services) regarding patient's procedure. Documents physician complaints and information regarding inability to satisfy doctor's preferences for scheduling.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Documents surgeon complaints and follow through on problem solving relating to being able to satisfy surgeon preference for scheduling.
  • Ensure that accurate information is taken from preference cards and/or Sales Representatives. Coordinate information with the OR and other departments.
  • Ensure that accurate information is taken from surgeons and/or surgeons' office. Coordinate information with the OR and other departments
  • Good rapport and cooperation when working with surgeon office staff, other departments, and co-workers. Good team player
  • Has computer skills, knowledge of surgical procedures and knows medical and surgical terminology
  • Schedules elective and urgent case using good organizational skills. Anticipates and handles schedule changes without explicit direction.
