Supply Chain Engineer Intern – Business Process Excellence (BPE)
Position Summary
At CEVA Logistics, we are committed to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and data-driven decision-making. The Supply Chain Engineer Intern (BPE Focus) will support Business Process Excellence initiatives across warehouse, transportation, and contract logistics operations.
This role is ideal for a student passionate about process optimization, Lean methodologies, analytics, and operational performance improvement within a global supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Excellence (Primary Focus)
- Assist in mapping and documenting current-state operational processes (SOPs, workflows, value stream maps).
- Support Lean initiatives including Kaizen events, 5S projects, and waste reduction efforts.
- Conduct time studies and process observations to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Participate in root cause analysis using internal tools available.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing productivity, reducing cost, and improving service levels.
- Help develop standard work documentation and process controls.
Data & Performance Analytics
- Collect and analyze operational data (labor productivity, order accuracy, cycle times, etc.).
- Build dashboards or reports in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Support KPI tracking and performance reporting for site leadership.
- Provide data-backed recommendations to improve operational metrics.
Engineering & Operational Support
- Assist in warehouse layout analysis and optimization projects.
- Support capacity planning and workforce planning initiatives.
- Contribute to automation or process redesign feasibility assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, HR, Transportation).
Qualifications
Education
- Currently or has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in:
- Industrial Engineering
- Supply Chain Management
- Logistics
- Operations Management
- Systems Engineering
- Or related field
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas); Power BI or Tableau a plus.
- Familiarity with process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, etc.).
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, operational environment.
