Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager oversees the end-to-end coordination and optimization of supply chain and purchasing functions. This includes leading supplier relationships, procurement activities, inventory management, distribution processes, material handling, and production planning. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to allocate resources effectively, monitor and improve supply chain performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. By focusing on operational efficiency, cost management, and service excellence, this position plays a key role in meeting customer needs while ensuring compliance with company policies, quality expectations, and safety standards.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage purchasing, distribution, warehousing, material handling, and production scheduling activities to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Partner with cross-functional internal teams to identify, secure, and sustain the resources necessary for a high-performing supply chain.
- Plan, monitor, and maintain appropriate inventory levels across all manufacturing locations to meet production requirements.
- Ensure sufficient quantities of raw materials and supplies are available to support efficient and uninterrupted production flow.
- Review and evaluate existing inventory levels, workflows, and procedures; propose and implement enhancements to improve efficiency and drive profitability.
- Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators to measure and improve overall supply chain performance.
- Create, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that strengthen efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the supply chain.
- Evaluate material handling equipment and workforce requirements; recommend and implement improvements to enhance the loading, unloading, transportation, and storage of materials, while ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards.
- Manage the complete procurement lifecycle, from supplier sourcing and evaluation through negotiations, contracting, and ongoing supplier management.
- Build and sustain strong supplier partnerships to ensure consistent supply, cost competitiveness, and high-quality materials.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers related to pricing, commercial terms, and delivery timelines.
- Track and evaluate supplier performance, proactively resolving issues related to quality, cost, or delivery reliability.
- Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to support operational requirements and reduce supply chain risk.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions, ensuring purchase orders are issued accurately and within required timelines.
- Analyze market conditions, raw material price trends, and potential supply disruptions to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure purchased materials comply with specifications and meet manufacturing needs.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing efforts, supplier rationalization, and continuous process improvements.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in inventory management, production operations, manufacturing environments, and scheduling activities.
- Background in purchasing, supplier relations, or procurement leadership roles.
- Familiarity with PLEX ERP software preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience within a machining or manufacturing setting.
- Working knowledge of AIAG standards and requirements.
