MajorDuties

  • Directs a branch of employees in the conduct of systems' analyses for the planning, design, development, testing and implementation of major SSA programmatic systems, or support for this analysis.
  • Conducts continuing liaison with other SSA components and external agencies to determine feasibility and to plan the development of programmatic systems, and the sharing of data.
  • Directs the design, development and testing to implement and maintain current, redesigned and new software for programmatic and MI applications.
  • Directs, coordinates and reviews a variety of special studies and projects regarding programmatic systems.
  • Furnishes advice to the Division Director and other officials on unique or complex programmatic systems problems and issues. Identifies potential for improvement and recommends changes.
  • Participates with the Division Director in planning and setting overall objectives, plans and policies for the division. Contributes to the development of operating policies, objectives, plans and methods as well as budget/resource projections.

NONCOMPETITIVE CONSIDERATION DUE TO SPECIAL HIRING AUTHORITY Applications for noncompetitive consideration will be accepted from SSA employees in the area of consideration who are currently serving under the following types of appointments: Schedule A, Reg. 213.3102 (U) appointments for individuals with disabilities; and time limited appointments for veterans with a compensable service-connected disability of 30% or more.
