About the Position:This position is located within the Army Medical Center Madigan in Tacoma, WA. Incumbent willsupervise and serve as a paraprofessional member of the surgical team in the performance of scrub and/or circulating operating room duties with primary emphasis in one or more surgical specialties.This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Additional information about transcripts isin this document.Specialized experience:One year of specialized experience which includes assisting surgeons by passing instruments and monitoring patient fluid levels during the surgical procedures; preparing and screening patients prior to surgery to ensure readiness; assisting with patient transport, positioning, and draping for surgical procedures; identifying, cleaning, and sterilizing surgical instruments while preparing operating rooms and organizing essential equipment and supplies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).OREducation: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as, Surgical Technology, Surgical Nursing, or Surgery.ORCombination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
