  • Serves as Headquarters Supervisory Food and Beverage Program Manager with oversight of MCCS Food & Beverage program operations. Responsible for direct oversight in the development, planning, training, management and Food and Beverage programming. Develops, augments and leads innovation in food service, retail food and vending business models, to sell food and beverage products to patrons across MCCS. Applies thorough knowledge of management best practices by leading MR efforts to support healthy eating and establishing menu standards for MCCS to provide healthy menu options in all directly operated snack bars, restaurants and clubs. Works as subject matter expert in supporting cross-agency initiatives for providing subsidized feeding within NAF environments. Responsible for oversight of MR efforts to gain compliance from the field to established best practices for using food & beverage systems, controls and technologies. Leads and directs MR efforts to professionalize MCCS efforts in managing catering and events sales and service delivery. Works with F&B Program Staff to establish standards and best practices in managing and tracking the sales process for catering and events. Reviews, recommends, and develops Marine Corps policy in regard to NAF food and beverage operations. As a subject matter expert conducts field sight visits to monitor and inspect programming, conduct training, and evaluate compliance with policies. Ensures best practices utilizing QA program and tools. Serves as a subject matter expert to field commands, Commanders, MCCS Directors on food and beverage issues. Analyzes programming, status of facilities and equipment, manpower requirements, and financial results to offer recommendations to improve performance. Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing tasks and projects, directing, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action. Leads business development activities with F&B and manages relationships with National restaurant brands at the Headquarters level. Stays current with food and beverage trends and consumer dining preferences. Conduct market and brand analysis using such best- in- class tools as: market penetration, trade area surveys and opinion and preference surveys. Serves as the authority on implementation of brand licensing policies. Coordinates and provides direction on coordinating local installation requirements with commercial food concepts. Identifies training requirements for Club and food service employees. Develop and/or facilitate specialty food and hospitality training, conferences, workshops and seminars. Supports recruiting efforts in the field for key F&B positions by assisting with identifying potential candidates, reviewing qualifications of candidates and assisting with interviewing and selection process. Develops and maintains relationships with industry professionals and Food & Beverage leadership in sister services of the US Armed Forces. Assists in planning marketing strategies for promotional programming which may include submitting written articles for publications such as newsletters, making personal contacts, and developing a plan of action with the MR Principle Strategic Communications Manager, Public Affairs Specialist, MR Program Managers, and other concerned agencies. May prepare supporting documentation for presentations and proposals. May prepare correspondence, briefs, action documents, routing sheets, point papers and slide presentations for use by management officials. Works closely with F&B team on program procedures, for support and to maintain consistency across the enterprise. Regularly communicates with MCCS leadership at installations, including Business Operations Directors, Food & Beverage Directors, and program managers. Leads discussions and shares best practices to improve operations. Conducts site visits and identifies ways MR can support the field. Maintains open, responsive communication and adjusts meeting times to accommodate global time zones. Builds and sustains strong relationships with field teams, Sister Services, ASN, and OSW, and assumes a leadership role when appropriate. Follows safety regulations, uses required equipment, and promptly reports hazards, injuries, and damage. Delivers a customer-focused experience and supports EEO principles and sexual harassment prevention. Travels for assignments, meetings, and conferences; may work flexible hours; perform other duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
