Supervises the technical activities of a histology laboratory and provides direction to laboratory technicians.
Manages technical histology services, training technicians and staff, to maintain an efficient laboratory environment.
Researches and develops new procedures to ensure quality control and efficiency of operation for the histology laboratory.
Manages inventory and maintenance of supplies throughout the laboratory.
Oversees the maintenance of processors, strainers, cover slipper, decal station, lab chemicals and dyes, and bio-hazard waste.
Assist pathologists and researchers with clinical cases and projects.
Performs quality control and quality assurance on a daily basis for clinical and research cases before they are sent out to researchers or Pathologists.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Eight (8) years of histological experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity is required.
